Rebecca manages the AIGCC secretariat and the group’s ongoing stream of work including policy advocacy and investor practice in the Asia region. She is a member of the global Steering Committee for the Climate Action 100+ and oversees the implementation of the initiative in Asia.
Rebecca has led various projects for the Australia /New Zealand Investor Group on Climate Change including Trustee Training on Climate Change series, IGCC Summit, Low Carbon Investment Registry and sector reports on risks and opportunities of climate change.
Rebecca was previously the General Manager of ASrIA (Asian SRI Association) after coming from the investment banking sector working in equity research, credit analysis, commodities and derivatives for groups such as Nomura Securities, BlackRock and JPMorgan. Rebecca is also a board member of The Orangutan Project that works on direct orangutan and habitat conservation in Indonesia. Rebecca speaks conversational Japanese, French and Czech.
Senior Manager, Climate Action 100+ Asia
Valerie is the Manager for Climate Action 100+ and oversees AIGCC’s portfolio of companies in Asia under the initiative and facilitates the investor engagement and related activities. Prior to joining AIGCC, she was a Manager in EY, Climate Change and Sustainability Services in Hong Kong and has advised clients on sustainability and risk management strategies.
Valerie’s career in sustainability started in 2013 when she worked as an ESG advisor and conducted environmental and social due diligence for private equity clients. Prior to that she works as a public affairs and public relations consultant in Hong Kong. Valerie holds a MSSc in Business and Community from the University of Bath and is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
Senior Manager – Policy and Projects
Shin manages AIGCC’s projects in the Asia region, including engagement with investors, companies, regulators and policymakers with a focus on Japan. Previous to joining AIGCC, Shin led the Asia finance strategy for 350.org and setup the 350 Japan office leading engagement with Japanese financial institutions on their alignment with the Paris Agreement.
Previously Shin was an Assistant Director at the Australian Government Department of Environment where he managed multi-country climate change adaptation initiatives in small-island countries. Shin has also consulted for the United Nations Development Programme, GIZ and Remote Sensing Technology Centre of Japan as a climate change specialist.
Shin holds a Master of Climate Change from the Australian National University and Bachelor of Social Science/Arts from the University of Queensland, Australia. Shin is fluent is Japanese.
Director, Strategic Communications, IGCC and AIGCC
Tom is a communications and advocacy specialist with over a decade of experience working in media and non-government organisations to stamp climate change on the national agenda. Most recently, Tom spent three years at the Australian Conservation Foundation developing the organisation’s investigative program, building its multimedia production capacity and leading its media relations. Previously he was a senior reporter and editor at The Age covering environmental issues and federal politics, and has also worked as a senior media manager with Save the Children Australia.
Tom recently completed a Master of International Law and International Relations at the University of NSW, and has qualifications in public policy, management and media production. Tom is fluent in English.
Yong is the Research Manager for AIGCC and coordinates engagement research and analysis for Climate Action 100+ in Asia and other AIGCC projects. Prior to joining AIGCC, he was the Head of Energy Research at BNP Paribas and has 20 years of experience as an equity research analyst primarily focused on the Asian energy sector, including oil & gas, refining, petrochemicals and renewables.
Yong holds a LLB/BCom from the University of Melbourne, is a CFA charterholder and is fluent in English, Mandarin, Malay & Cantonese.
Team and Communications Coordinator
Jayeta is a marketing and corporate communication specialist with almost 5 years of experience working with development organisations as well as the private sector. Jayeta specialises in stakeholder communication, event and logistics management and digital media management. Previously, Jayeta has worked for organisations like the Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, German Development Corporation (GIZ) and the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan. She has worked passionately as a development communications professional in areas of environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation.
Jayeta holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Communication and Event Management from Delhi University in India. She has also recently completed her Masters in Gender and Development Studies. Jayeta is fluent in English and Hindi.
Manager, Finance and Governance, IGCC and AIGCC
Sashi is the Finance and Governance Manager for IGCC and AIGCC. Sashi has 15 years of experience working in the not-for-profit sector..
Prior to joining IGCC, Sashi worked in Disability, Children Services, Health and Sports sectors where she made significant improvements in the financial policies and procedures and gained better control of the organisational resources. Sashi developed and managed the organisation’s budgets and forecasts and advised managers on the most effective ways to achieve their business goals through prudent financial management. She takes ownership of the Financial and Reporting processes and has a strong technical knowledge of accounting concepts.
Sashi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management and Information Systems and is a member of CPA Australia. Sashi is fluent in English and Hindi.
Jane Karen Ho
Investor Initiatives Manager
Jane is the Investor Initiatives Manager for AIGCC and manages collaborative investor programs across the region that build capacity around climate integration into investment portfolios.
Prior to joining AIGCC, she was a global equities portfolio manager at JPMorgan Asset Management with over 10 years of experience. She was based in Hong Kong and focused primarily on research and analysis of Asian companies.
Jane holds a Master’s in Sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford. She is a CFA charterholder and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Minjoo works as a Policy Analyst for AIGCC and is responsible for supporting and implementing regional and international policy agenda. She coordinates and manages priority AIGCC policy projects and is involved in member and stakeholder engagement and management.
Before joining AIGCC, she was an Associate Economist at Standard Chartered providing economic research, economic policy analysis, and forecast on the Korea economy to global traders, corporate clients, and financial institutions. She also worked for notable think tanks including Korea Development Institute, Korea Institute for International Economic Policy and The Wilson Center in Washington D.C.
Minjoo holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service at Georgetown University concentrating in Global Business and Finance and is fluent in English and Korean.
Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC) is currently a project within the Investor Group on Climate Change Australia/New Zealand (IGCC). AIGCC operates under the structure and governance of IGCC and therefore works closely with the IGCC Secretariat in numerous aspects of the organisation.
