Japan has set a net zero target for 2050 to address the challenges of climate change. To achieve the target, the focus needs to be on decisive action on energy transition over the next decade. The electric power sector contributes close to 40% of Japan’s emissions and will be crucial in helping Japan meet its target.

AIGCC’s event will bring together key stakeholders of Japan’s power sector to discuss barriers and imminent actions needed, drawing on international experience. Topics of focus include Japan’s energy mix, role of new technologies and enabling higher integration of renewable energy.

The event will be structured as a general session followed by an invitation only, closed-door roundtable. The speakers for the general session from 9 to 10am JST are listed below.
